+ Pix02 | MacRitchie Reservoir

National Parks Central Nature ReserveThe whole family felt a little adventurous after reading the news about the new attraction in the heart of the nature reserve in Bukit Timah.

The Central Catchment Nature Reserve a buzz, not with insects but nature-loving Singaporeans flocking to MacRitchie Reservoir, one of the entrances to the Central Catchment Area. On 8th February 2005, 3 of us set to reach the canopy walk or Treetop Walk.

The suspension bridge sponsored by HSBC Bank is 250m long and reaches a height of 27m at its highest is by no mean an easy feat to get to. It took about an hour on foot, tracking into the primary and secondary forest and another back out.

We got a good exercise tracking before we got to the bridge, and on our way back, we walked through an almost endless boardwalk downhill to finally get out to the main road, flagged a cab to dinner next.

  • Hello Ellen,

Nice for you to visit me again.

Yeah it was definitely challenging, tracking on foot to the almost elusive bridge.

By the time we reached the place, we hardly had enough energy left, but the scenery from the canopy top calms the mind and the panting heart too.

The trip back down the boardwalk and steps seemed endless. We just wanted to get back, eat dinner and shower, yes shower!

It was an interesting trip. There are another two more tree-top walks in Singapore that we are planning to visit, but with less challenging tracking needed.

    Will post them most definitely.

    Have a great weekend!
