+ Pix03 | Sungei Buloh

Some of the photos taken at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve situated in Neo Tiew Crescent off Kranji Way in Woodlands, north-west tip of Singapore on 10 December 2005.

Went to visit the flora and fauna - both local residents and migratory ones at the wetlands during school break.

Outing with my son and his cousin who stayed with us for 2 weeks keeping Danish accompanied doing the XBox marathon. Wife, Azi missed this outings as she was tending to her Christmas Bazaar booth at OUB Centre.

My second trip there, but worth the long journey by bus. We were caught-up with too many things that we forgot the time and returned back to the visitors centre second last after closing hours. Phew!

The few photos here and coupled with my inexperience in photo-taking, will not do justice to this great place. Will have to post a few more in the future.

  • Hello Andrew,

    It sure is for me.

In this small concrete jungle of Singapore, you do not get to see many diverse types of wildlife, so this is one of the perfect places for nature lovers.

Moreover, it is a stopover/resting place for migratory birds. Some already made it a permanent home.

If we're lucky we get to watch so many different types of birds a far as Siberia and South America, besides the native otters and monitor lizards.

The kids were too noisy and scared the birds away faster than I could snap a photo. Nonetheless, nice outing.

Photos you posted are interesting and some enchanting-like. The words you describe invokes deep thoughts and varied meanings.

Very interesting to read, but so hard to describe how you make me think about it. Like looking at an abstract picture. Each his own interpretation.

This one here is your regular visitor. Keep going and do your magic.

  • Hello Ellen,

Guess I am. Maybe because I am an outdoor person. I wish to experience whatever I have not before when I was a child.

Outings with my wife and son, and sometimes with my parents together is the sweetest reward for my crave to "crash-experience" it.

We basically come home directly from work and school on weekdays. So when weekends come, we go "wild" to soak up nature to "balance" our sanity.

That is why whenever we do go for vacations, it will always be of natural attractions as the major draw. All else are a bonus for us.

That is also why I envy you, because you live in a place where nature is still untouched and wildlife abundant to experience.

Your entry on "The walk to work" is so cool. What a beautiful path to work! Everyday!

Now, go out and have a great weekend too!
