+ Pix04 | The Esplanade

The Esplanade, Theater By The BayA night family outing with photos taken at The Esplanade, Theater By The Bay on 4th Mar 2005. After sumptious dinner at Marina Bay, we took a stroll soaking in the fresh sea breeze as we looked-on the city skyline.

Singapore's The Arts, venue of the elite theater companies and symphony orchestras around the world are staged. The building looked very distinguished with its glass "spikes" that look like the king of Asian fruit, the durian.

Cross over the bridge of the Singapore River where the commercial and banking district is. Greeting the river and its bumboat visitors is colonial building that formerly housed the Singapore Parliament until it was turned into a 6-Star Fullerton Hotel right at the waterfront.

Guarding the river is the Singapore Tourist Icon, the mystic Merlion, spouting out water into the river.

  • Kia Ora (Hello) from a krazy blogger down under in New Zealand. I was surfing the blog world when your blog popped up - great blogs. I was going to mention your blogs on one of my blogs - 21 21 21.

  • Kia Ora Kelvin,

Thank you for visiting and leaving a message in my blog. Finally a blog acquaintance from NZ! Yes! A place I wish to visit one of these days.

I am honoured that you will include me in your blog of the world.

I saw it and what interesting compilations you have done so far! I saw one from Singapore too.

    Thanks, Bro.

    Have a good weekend.

  • Imran, what lovely beautiful photos! How very cool and sounds like you and family had a great time. Ah, I kind of envy you, can't remember last time went out and had a nice evening like that.

I love reading about your city and how things are there and you sharing with us all the cool history and cool buildings,etc.. I used to be quite the traveler years back, but I've only traveled to and lived in one foreign country, Japan, as I think I already mentioned to you. However I have lived in many many places throughout the United States, so many I can't remember them all! Okay, since my geography is so bad whereabouts would your country be in relation to Japan? Kind of curious..and yes geography was the worse subject in school for me!:-)

    Oh, how's Puffy doing?

    Have a great weekend!

  • Hello Both,

Always so wonderful to receive your messages.

Rhiannon | I remember you told me of your stay in Japan and the trishaw.

Boy, I would love it if you could share your experiences while you were there.

An interesting opportunity to learn how daily Asian living looked through the eyes of a western person. Anything common in Asia, but peculiar in westerns' eyes, etc.

You know, my son gets the same questions from his online XBox friends asking where Singapore is.

I don't blame anyone. It is not ignorance, it is simply too small to be indicated in most world map. I sucked at Geo to when I was in nigh school. That is why I always cannot remember directions.

Anyway, it is at the southern tip of Malaysia. A tiny almost none existent dot on the equator in the world map.

I will post where I am in my blog with maps and let you know when I am done.

Puffy is doing great! Thanks for remembering. Lots of photos, lots of missed photo-opportunities too, but lots of happy stories to tell. That in my blog too.

I can go on forever and start to bore you, but I will bore you in my future blogs too nonetheless.

Thanks for staying awake and leaving me messages. Have a great weekend!

Ellen | Thanks for stopping by. The photos are all on auto-setting and auto-focus. I just point and shoot. The camera did all the miracles for me. My good point was that I was correct to choose the camera which I am so happy with.

Singapore has very strict laws. There is a catch phrase "Singapore is a fine city."

Yes, you get fined for littering, not flushing the toilet after use, etc... even to the point of banning chewing gum selling to keep public places gum free.

All in an effort to educate the public to be civil-minded and responsible for public properties. I think it is good. Everyone gets to enjoy clean surroundings.

Nonetheless, there are excessive loads of maintenance and cleaners working everyday to keep the island clean, but a well spent tax-payers' monies.

Hope you will come to our shores one day and visit your birthplace. We hope to tour England one day too.

So how's the new job going? You have a wonderful weekend.
